Somatic YogaThis 6-week course will introduce you to Somatic yoga practices, which can help soothe the nervous and unravel patterns of holding tension and stress. ![]() WHEN 6-week course from Thursday 1 July to 12 August 2021 (no session on 29 July). TIME 7pm-8.15pm. ABOUT THIS SESSION Somatic practices will soothe the nervous and unravel patterns of holding tension and stress, supporting you to feel at home in your body. The practices are gentle, fluid and often lying down. They are particularly beneficial for people experiencing stress, anxiety, burnout and/or fatigue conditions. The class will end with a long relaxation to promote deep rest. Suitable for complete beginners and those with experience. A yoga mat and 2-3 long pillows (sleeping pillows) are needed for the practice. WHO CAN JOIN THESE SESSIONS Anyone who lives in Surrey and is over the age of 16. HOW THE SESSIONS ARE RUN We use a video chat service called Zoom (find out more here). We can help you set this up if needed, so you don’t need to do anything right now! HOW TO JOIN If you’re already registered with Mary Frances Trust, please email info@maryfrancestrust.org.uk to sign up for this activity. If you’re new to Mary Frances Trust, please complete our registration form here. If applicable, please include the name of the activity you’re interested in and date under ‘Reason for registering’ (please note it’s not always possible to join a session happening the same day). Once you have completed the registration form, we will usually aim to respond within 24/48 hours to arrange an introductory call with a member of staff, to find out a bit more about you and discuss how we can best support you.
